Who of us hasn’t played badminton at least once in our lives? At least in their childhood, in their neighborhood or at the beach? It’s merely an active, dynamic game for leisure, which takes dexterity and quick reflexes and nothing more than that, right? Guess what – wrong! Badminton is an Olympic sport! And not just spectacular, but also highly technical and potentially traumatic. A long time ago, in the ‘60s of the last century, badminton was at the peak of popularity, yearly championships of different degrees were held in Odesa, there were functioning badminton sports groups. Nowadays badminton comes back to life, for example, it’s already the third time an International Tournament is held in Odesa, and for two years in a row it’s been taking place at the base of the splendid new modern sports complex of the International Humanitarian University.

In the middle of the summer season, songs were sung in the favorite vacation spot of all Odessa residents and guests of our city - in Zatoka, and vacationers lit the stage with their cheerful and rhythmic dances. The most striking cultural event of the summer - the final of the vocal competition "Songs by the Sea" is traditionally held at the recreation center of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", located on the seashore.

The 32nd beauty contest “Miss Odesa - 2019” will be held on August 8th with the support of the citizen of honour Sergey Kivalov. The current finals will feature 18 contestants. Girls aged from 16 to 24 spent a few months preparing for the contest and have successfully passed the casting, although in the very beginning of it the amount of participants reached almost 400. An outstanding stage that lies practically in the water has been constructed for the finals of the “Miss Odesa - 2019” contest that will begin in one of Arcadia’s night clubs at 7 p.m., and various guest stars have been invited to attend.
